Rio Movie Review

There are not many reasons to seek a film like Rio. This is probably the definition of consequences. But I think the filmmaker who gave us also had three films Ice Age, no great consequence in mind. A blue macaw is domesticated and kidnapped in Rio De Janeiro to pair with the only other bird of its kind. To accept a hypothesis for the odd movie, when you consider that we did not say what kind of blue macaw birds – hyacinth or neck? Is there a blue Spix’s macaw? And also, why only two of them are left? I’m not a birder, but it struck me more than once during the movie. Suspend disbelief works most of the time.

At the beginning of the film, and “early” I mean “pretty good in the opening credits,” we rely on the joke: it’s a movie about a bird that flies the courage to find. Of course the flight is a metaphor for being free. It is not that the bird can not fly, so he has not overcome any kind of disability, is that he knocked out of a tree by poachers when he was very young, and all just never learned. This bird is Blu (voiced by Jesse Eisenberg) and grew up in the warm arms of the protection of a woman named Linda (voice with love by Leslie Mann). Linda has no idea how special is Blu, nor does he, until (for whatever reason), a Brazilian doctor bird comes along and sees its TV library for what it is – the last of its kind, somehow. The three of them go to Brazil, just before Carnival, with Blu Jewel (voiced by Anne Hathaway), mate to continue the race. The birds are removed for further gains, and the film finally began in earnest, with absolutely no urgency.

Rio winds up to a confusing film to something so simple. I’m not usually one to several subplots that the film is less a story to multiple (imagine if Robert Altman had done this) is. There are certainly people, earthy enough to carry the subplot, though. George Lopez is a toucan family man Tracy Morgan is a bulldog with constant failures of the brain, and Jemaine Clement is Nigel, the Blu Bird Hunting and Jewel. Will.I.Am and Jamie Foxx also offer music and the joy that Pedro and Nico, two friends of the toucan, especially in a beautiful song, “Fly Love”. Clement makes the most of his Flight of the Conchords suave in his songs for the film. One thing that bothered me while it was the similarity not only to the Ice Age series, but the movie Madagascar. If you can see the team of monkeys in this movie and can not remember the penguins and the lemurs from Madagascar, or cinema, then you are better off to your brain and enjoy a movie that I am.

Another little thing that bothered me was the depiction of Rio de Janeiro as a big party in the middle of a shanty town filled with crime – that it can not be everything – and, of course, a jungle. But it’s a pretty two-dimensional perspectives, is not it? I could be wrong, but I think there’s more to the city as the.

All that to heart, of course, this is a movie for a child, and if we judge the film flat on its own merits, then, well, it was based for many. He managed to be permanently bright colors, great music, fun and action. It tells a familiar story, and that will most likely be the adults who drags himself to them (especially given the lack of jokes, there is that small children can not), but it tells the story with conviction. Rio does not require that you know that whatever happens I think find it difficult to say whether this film or not. He only wants to dance and have fun.
